Early yesterday I dutifully experienced my annual mammogram though it
concerned a month late. Hey, I really don't like going 72 hrs before
Christmas, in case it can be not so great news! It went surprisingly quick
and without having a wide range of stay at home the waiting room. I noticed an
improvement there too. They removed that huge poster about Women
and Heart Disease displaying horrible statistics. I remember thinking
not too long ago how ironic it was. So we women, waiting to listen for
the end result of our own diagnostic X-rays could figure if your cancer doesn't
kill us, heart related illnesses will.

Last Thursday, couple of days later I acquired a phone call about coming back
in. I had essentially overlooked it and became a bit surprised by
the call. I had been told they wished to get another mammogram of my
left breast. Gurus why as my suitable was the main one previously
informed they have micro calcifications and after that having a botched up

technician because I was told I would personally merely have the left one done.
We have learned to not just trust anyone wearing a white (or pink
for example) lab coat. How is it that I subject myself to more
radiation and also a higher medical expense that was surely going to be
provided to me - mistake or otherwise? Works out I'd been right and merely the
left breast was doomed to being painfully squished and flattened
these times.

Luckily I didn't have to wait for an extended time with the results when the
technician called me way back in. She informed me that my left upper breast
was more dense than the suitable once i had my mammogram, i
am guessing was a more dense shadow and in addition they wanted to require a
closer think about the left one. Once they did, there were nothing
suspicious there. My thinking would be the density got thinned rid of
the x-ray machine grabbing just that section and smashing it as being
thin as possible and absolutely nothing suspicious was discovered. I didnt need
an ultrasound and can call the nurse later basically wished to have
the state run report (but she had heard the radiologist reading
the flicks and that's what he stated).

Later I made the decision to call but happened to be a nurse who although was extremely
nice, was skirting my question. She was explaining how when they had
seen something I would have needed an ultrasound for more information on it further,
but they didn't need one. I suppose she was awaiting me to say
"Well that's excellent news, thanks" and. However i needed to know
more than this. Specialists if my left breast then revealed that it turned out
more dense versus the one they took this past year? She couldn't really
answer me. She just said the left had more density compared to the right
so again I inquired, "So it absolutely was more dense that last year's mammogram?".
Her response was "It will need to have been".

Well that's baloney. I've no solid proof the radiologist
first compared the 2010 mammogram towards the ones done last year (as
a diagnostic mammogram believe it or not). For all those I realize this year's
were viewed because the left didn't match the most appropriate one in density,
a different one was ordered.
